I get this question from many Buyers so I decided I should write about Garden Valley so that everyone can understand why Garden Valley, Idaho is an incredible place to live and visit and why you should be buying Mountain properties and Real Estate in this amazing mountain community. First off, Garden Valley is located in Boise county! We have areas of dense timber on the Mountain sides and the Valley is grassy open areas with amazing views. We have creeks and rivers that run through out our Garden Valley properties. No matter what you are looking for views, waterfront, sloped property for a daylight basement cabin or flat grassy meadow land, Garden Valley has a property that will fit your Real Estate needs. Our community has seen many changes and it seems to keep progressing from a sleepy little town to a vacation destination. So now is the time to get in the door on buying Real Estate in this paradise.
The Southfork Landing development has recently seen the snow tube hill open up and it is a big success. Many days they are sold out so be sure to make a reservation. Plumb Jack resort will be opening up a resort in the Southfork Landing development as well. This summer there is plans to break ground on the Whitewater park in Southfork Landing . Our elevation is 3400 feet which gives us just the right combination for perfect weather. Our average summer day is in the 80-90's and a winter day is in the 30-40's. We get snow but not so much that you can't maneuver around in it just enough to make everything winter white. Our typical winter day is crystal blue skies with crisp clean air. Our summer days are pure paradise, warm temps during the day cooling off to sweatshirt temps in the evening.
For recreation we are located amongst natures playground and we have it all. For the novice to the expert outdoors person their is hiking, hot springs, the Middlefork of the Payette River which has lots of wonderful pools to swim and splash around in. It is also a great section of river for inter tube floating and there are many spots where you can access the river through out Garden Valley. The Southfork of the Payette River is a great spot for Kayakers and Rafter as the white water on these sections goes from beginner to class 4. The North Fork of the Payette River is world renowned for its challenging whitewater sections. There are many snow mobile trails, cross country trails, places to 4 wheel drive and great spots to fish. If golf is your sport we have Terrace Lakes a 18 hole golf course available. There is some activity for everyone to keep busy in Garden Valley. If you are a hunter or just an animal watcher, we have a fabulous supply of wildlife right in the backyard of our Garden Valley properties. The city life and the airport are about an hour away. There are three ski area that are a little over an hour away. Tamarack ski resort being my favorite.
Our local population is small but we have lots of weekender and summer home owners who want a property in the mountains, so its off to Garden Valley for summer break, weekends and holidays.
